Casting solutions, not just casting supply
KFI produces no castings but provides casting solutions.
KFI connects Kimura Foundry’s full mold casting know-how with factories, people, and sourcing networks in India. From on-site audits and technical advisory to laboratory support and supplier development, KFI helps Japanese manufacturers build practical, local execution paths.
Current traction
KFI currently has 16 contracts: 6 foundry manufacturers and 10 non-foundry manufacturers.
SSD has added 3 new non-foundry contracts, bringing SSD usage to 10 companies. By service, 3 companies use FAA, 10 use SSD, 1 uses ACL, and 2 use MHS. MHS has supported 8 trainees across 2 companies.

FAA / Foundry Audit and Advisory
Short-term defect improvement through regular technical discussions
A foundry producing large heavy components faced frequent cold shuts and dross defects. KFI reviewed chemical composition data, identified abnormal values, explained stagnant flow points through simulation, and proposed countermeasures that could be reflected on the production line immediately.
At the follow-up visit one month later, dross-related defects had decreased by approximately 80%.
Factory visits to seven foundry suppliers
KFI guided a Japanese machine-tool manufacturer to seven casting manufacturers and conducted audits to support supplier selection and stable future procurement.
India market research consulting
KFI supported Japanese companies visiting India by organizing local movement, visit plans, and research themes, turning the trip into actionable decision material.
Local expansion support for a pattern machining equipment maker
Through local observation, KFI helped evaluate price gaps and product performance advantages, then supported discussion toward sales activity and possible agency arrangements.
Order coordination from Japan to India
For a large casting order, KFI supported coordination with the manufacturing side and helped reduce the customer’s burden around export and import operations.
Casting simulation support
KFI responded to structural analysis requests for press-die castings and provided a practical consultation channel for recurring design validation needs.
Customized casting course
KFI adjusted the standard training program to match the trainee’s experience and expected workplace role, turning the course into practical preparation for real manufacturing work.
Specified skilled worker support for Japanese manufacturers
KFI coordinated with partners to design training before and after interviews, including casting, machining, and 3D printer training to support workplace readiness.
Three-stage foundry audit
KFI combines shop-floor audits, quality management audits, and customer-specific checks to support supplier listing and procurement decisions.
MHS / Manufacturing HR Solutions
Casting engineer development and laboratory utilization
As part of MHS, KFI uses casting training and research laboratory capabilities connected with KGTTI Bengaluru. The program can combine casting fundamentals, iron casting knowledge, testing and analysis, CAD/CAM/CAE, 3D printing, and hands-on casting practice according to customer needs.
- Training design for groups of 10 to 20 participants
- Combination of basic knowledge and practical lessons
- Course customization by KFI based on customer requirements
