Selected under a subsidy program aimed at fostering innovation in elemental casting technologies through collaboration between Indian foundry manufacturers and startups, and conducted a survey of foundries and startup enterprises in India.

Opening Ceremony for the Establishment of KIMURA FOUNDRY INDIA PVT. LTD.

An opening ceremony was held to mark the establishment of Kimura Foundry India Pvt. Ltd., followed by the signing of an MOU with KGTTI for facility use, enabling business activities utilizing KGTTI’s facilities.

Handover Ceremony Held for the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Project “Casting Training Course”

A handover ceremony was held for the Foundry Engineer Training Course established with support from a JICA-commissioned project. This was the first foundry technology training course at KGTTI and also its first technical training program developed in collaboration with a Japanese company.

Completion Ceremony for Equipment Installation under the JICA Project “Support for Establishing a Casting Training Course”

An equipment installation completion ceremony was held for the Casting Training Course supported under a JICA project. The course offers comprehensive training in cast iron foundry production, including casting fundamentals, 3D modeling, simulation, inspection techniques, and hands-on practical experience.

Conducted Equipment Installation at KGTTI

As part of a JICA project, equipment was installed for the Foundry Training Course. The installed equipment includes a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), casting simulation systems, CAD/CAM software, a plastic 3D printer, an optical microscope, hardness testers and test piece preparation machines, as well as MT/UT testing equipment.

Technical Guidance Delivered to Two Indian Foundries through the AOTS Expert Dispatch Program

Through the expert dispatch program of The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), engineers from Kimura Foundry were dispatched to two foundry companies in Karnataka, India.

Selected under SDGs Business Model Formulation Survey with the Private Sector for Training of Casting Engineers in India by JICA

Following the outcomes of the JICA Project Formulation Survey, a casting course was established at KGTTI, along with the introduction of necessary equipment. A separate study was also conducted to support the development of a business plan for Kimura Foundry in India.

Held a Seminar at KASSIA (Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association)

We had held a seminar at KASSIA to discuss human resource development in the foundry industry and future collaboration opportunities, including an introduction to Japanese casting technologies and foundry engineer training course.

Selected under SDGs Business Model Formulation Survey (preparatory survey) with the Private Sector for Training of Casting Engineers in India by JICA

A study on foundry engineer training was conducted, covering Indian vocational training institutes including KGTTI, as well as Indian foundry manufacturers and casting procurement companies.

First visit to KGTTI

As part of a JICA-related preliminary study, we visited KGTTI during our evaluation of business expansion in India.
Through continued engagement, KFI has since established an office within KGTTI, forming a cooperative partnership focused on human resource development and technical exchange.

Kimura Foundry America’s Shelbyville Plant commenced operations

In July 2014, Kimura Foundry America, Inc. (KFA) was established, followed by the establishment of a foundry plant in Indiana, USA.

Kimura Foundry’s Advanced Process Technology Center commenceed operations

The Direct Molding Process (DMP) was introduced, enabling casting directly from sand molds produced by 3D printers.
This innovation made it possible to manufacture prototype castings with significantly shorter lead times.

Following the commencement of operations at the Gunma Plant in 1981, the Omaezaki Plant was launched to further expand production capacity. Subsequently, in 2001, the Izu Plant also commenced operations.

Full Mold Casting Process was Iintroduced

Full Mold Casting process, which spread worldwide from a German company, was introduced at Kimura Foundry and began to be used for the production of automotive press dies.
